League of Legends is a competitive online game that combines Role playing game (RPG) elements with the speed of a real-time strategy game (RTS). The game was initially released on October 27, 2009. More than 27 million people play League of Legends on a daily basis and 67 million play monthly. One student [declined to give his name] stated the game looked fun while senior Shane Tafoya called the game “utter garbage.” The student who liked the game started playing in 2009 and said, “[the game] caters to people that like casual or repetitive games” and “it is the most played game in the world right now, but if it gets more popular I’m happy for it.” Tafoya said he played it for two hours then decided to stop playing the game. He also said, “In order to have fun with the game you would have to buy skins for characters” and the game is as popular as it needs to be.
