During your time at West, it is possible that you have heard of something called “Wireless Wednesdays”. You may be asking yourself, what is Wireless Wednesday? Our library Technician Selina Rodrigues is here to answer that and a few more questions you may have.
To get the elephant out of the room, what is Wireless Wednesday? Wireless Wednesday is a day when students can go to the library and disconnect and play games, socialize, or do homework. Wireless Wednesday was started one year ago with the goal to give students time to disconnect and really pay attention to the present. During Wireless Wednesday students can partake in many activities including things such as games set out exclusively for Wireless Wednesday, socializing with one another or doing homework or classwork.
At the end of the day, why should you attend Wireless Wednesday? You should attend because in this day and age we are all caught up in social media and our electronic presence that we don’t spend nearly enough time on ourselves. Attending Wireless Wednesday gives you time to focus on the present and to connect with yourself.
