Senior Amia Jackson has been cheering for seven years and has a bright future. She looks forward to so many opportunities. She has only cheered at West for one year and did competitive cheer for Athletic Perfection. She also cheered at her old school for three years. Amia will be attending Grand Canyon University for all four years. She wants to major in Nursing and will focus on that goal for the four years. Amia is incredibly open to joining clubs at her university like the Nursing club and Christian club. She says that she wants to be incredibly open to many opportunities. She also looks forward to being on the Cheer team, but she wants to wait till her sophomore year so she can focus on school and get used to it her first year. Amia is very advanced in her skills, such as knowing how to do back handsprings and back tucks. Her other skill is being main base. Her advice to upcoming freshmen or to upcoming cheerleaders trying out is “Try your best on your strength, be respectful to everyone, always have a positive mind when going into practice/games, and always have a big smile.”
