In May, many seniors will graduate and start a new chapter in their lives. To honor this, the school has planned a couple of events for seniors to make some memorable moments before they leave.
Starting off we have Senior Sunrise, an annual event at West High. It was held at the start of the year and was a wonderful way to kick off the year and create a bond with their class. Students come together, armed with blankets and snacks, and participate in activities like leaving their fingerprints on a large piece of paper, symbolizing their belonging to the class of 2024 to create lasting memories with their friends and classmates.
Delmy Alvarez, a senior, said “I loved how many photo ops there were, it made for great photos and memories,” She then added, “I think since it’s our only event so far this year it will be one of my favorites,”
Powderpuff is an event where both junior and senior girls gather up to play a competitive game of flag football while our boys cheer on for the team as cheerleaders. Powderpuff creates many funny and joyful memories for the seniors to take on with them forever.
Seniors can spend time together with their friends on a sunny morning during senior breakfast! An event where all senior classes meet up and eat a delicious breakfast with all their desired foods.
One of the many events planned at West High School is Tailgate. Seniors can go and party in our school’s parking lot. This party is full of music, food, and activities for the seniors to enjoy.
A senior who chose to say anonymously said, “I am for sure going to love tailgate because I and my friends love food, it’s our love language! That is why it’ll be my favorite.”
And finally, we have senior sunset. Just like our senior sunrise seniors gather up once more before the school year ends and watch the sunset together all cozy and have a wonderful time with their close ones.
Vianna Dayeh, a senior said, “Definitely senior sunrise! Senior sunrise was one of my favorite events so far so I definitely think senior sunset will be as well?”
These events help create a beautiful long school year for the seniors so they can have multiple memories to look back on.
