Sophomore and Dance Team member Ava Bullock was asked about dance performing alongside cheer at school events. Here’s what she had to say.
When asked to describe the relationship between dance and cheer, Ava Bullock responded by saying, “I believe that we have yet to develop a strong relationship between dance and cheer at the moment due because many members of the dance team [that] are new as well as we have a new coach, and we haven’t had time to bond with the cheer team very much, but possibly further down the year we will be able to bond and develop a strong relationship.”
Ava was also asked about how she believed the roles for dance and cheer are similar or different during school events, and she replied, “For the similarities we share: both of us preforming at the football games and basketball games are what makes us similar because we are both providing school spirit during these events. For the differences: cheer performs on the sidelines and as well as have special cheers unlike dance.”
Ava was asked what she admired the most about cheer, she responded by saying, “I personally admired how much fun the cheerleaders seemed to be having while they were doing sidelines, I’ve always liked seeing how organized and uniform the cheerleaders are when it came to preforming.”
