There are many clubs here at West High, one of them is Latinx club. This club is a sort of new club on campus. It’s their second year being an official club, they represent a bright new inclusive space where many students as Latin Americans can come together as one.
Latinx club is a welcoming club where you can learn about the many different cultures and learn about the languages. They also love performing at our school rallies, especially our Multicultural one.
When talking to their current president Sophomore Mia Tello about how she feels as president of the club and just her experience she says, “It means a lot to me knowing I have the position as president to help more people in any way I can, and to represent everyone to not leave anyone in the shadows to get them out there”.
She also mentions, “I grew up in a big family who always helps others and knowing I have this club so I can help others in my own way means so much to me.”I also questioned her on her main goal for the future of this club, and she replied with, “My main goal for this club is keeping the club alive and going, and to hopefully make it a welcoming space for the future members who are wanting to find a safe and fun space”.
Latinx club is a very positive and vibrant club here on campus, if you interested in more of the club upcoming events or wanting to join, check out their Instagram @latinx_whs
