Global Warming is a phenomenon where the temperature of the entire world rises on the surface of the Earth. Global Warming is caused by a greenhouse effect, simply that some gases, or carbon dioxide, are released into the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide traps the sun’s heat and prevent said heat from escaping back into space, therefore, causing Global Warming.
Global Warming causes rising seal levels, from melted glaciers and ice sheets, causing threats for coastal communities and ecosystems. Though it may not be possible to stop the glaciers or ice sheets from melting, we can slow the process down. The biggest way to do this is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that we use every day. Which includes using renewable energy or solar power, improving our energy efficiency, and more.
Global Warming also causes disruptions in the Ecosystems, which are, causing disruptions in species distribution, alerting the timing of natural events, disrupting food webs, and even potentially leading to species extinction. Of course, the most efficient way to stop this is to stop green house emissions of carbon dioxide or just stop our reliance on fossil fuels. But we can also do different things, such as switching to electric vehicles, implement strict policies to preserve forests and other carbon absorbing ecosystems, and encourage reforestation to plant new trees.
Rising sea levels could cause major problems for coastal areas, due to the melting glaciers, unfortunately, we can’t really do anything against rising sea levels, so what we can do is protect coastal areas, we can build flood defenses, like levees, sea walls, and tidal gates, or raise roads and houses, upgrade and adapt buildings and infrastructure, or do what we did for thousands of years, move to higher ground.
The most efficient way to stop Global Warming from getting worse and even decrease the temperature, is to decrease our green house emissions of carbon dioxide. By changing and stopping our reliance on fossil fuels, use renewable energy, or just change your transportation, to walking, bicycling, or use public transportation, and just recycle and more.
