Every message shared in Christian Club meetings are Spirit led, meaning they are always inspired by God through prayer and worship. New club president Rodrick Coladilla and the club officers will come together in bible study to figure out the message that God wants to be told that week and sometimes even have guest speakers or events. The Christian Club is welcome to everyone, at every level of faith, and isn’t strictly for Christians. Coladilla wants students to know that the purpose of the club is to be a community of spiritual guidance and wisdom and it’s everyone’s individual decision whether they will follow Jesus or not. He says, “At the end of the day, it’s not me that’s going to lead them but it’s going to be God that gets the increase. I just plant the seed in them and God will sow the seed.” He wants to remind students that, ultimately, the Club’s Christians are still young in their faith, and everyone has a responsibility to grow their faith, and he hopes they can do it together.
“Suddenly, a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.” (Acts 2:2). This verse in the Bible isn’t talking about a natural disaster; it’s talking about the presence of the Holy Spirit falling on the first church of God. This Spirit is the presence of God in us and this is exactly the goal of the Christian Club this year. Coladilla simply says his goal is, “an Acts 2 movement where the Holy Spirit outpours to all the members.” The club also seeks to expand and level up while welcoming new members and helping all members grow in the faith. Coladilla’s own testimony was filled with rough roads and showed him the importance of a community at a time when you’re low. “I feel like it’s really meant for me because I’ve gone through those trials and uplifted myself through community and found spiritual guidance that allowed me to learn from it.” The club seeks to foster an environment that can help others who are feeling this way. Anyone who is interested in joining the club or gaining more information can join them on Thursdays in K4 or follow their Instagram @westhighchristianclub.
