Spooky season is among us now, and with that comes all the fun things like scary movies. The fun feeling you get at a jump scare or a gore scene is so fun. On the milder side of scary movies, we have thrillers. These would be movies like the “Scream” franchise, the “Halloween” franchise, and “Silence of the Lambs”. These movies are classified as thrillers because they are not as gory as movies like “Terrifier.”
The “Scream” franchise has run the spooky season since it came out in 1996. They filled every single movie with more plot twists than the first. Junior Kaiden Bundoc says that when he thinks about October and the Halloween season his mind goes straight to “Scream.” It is so iconic. Maybe even more iconic than the “Halloween” movies.
Another genre of scary movies are considered horror. This would be movies like “The Conjuring”, “Truth or Dare”, “The Last Exorcism” etc..
“The Conjuring” is another franchise that is extremely popular and for good reasons. Annabelle Higgins was a girl who was killed in a car accident. A demon used that trauma to manipulate the father into making a conduit doll. This started the Annabelle story. Based on true events, this movie sends shivers down your spine.
In chronological order, “The Conjuring” movie franchise goes, “The Nun”, “Annabelle: Creation”, “The Nun II”, “Annabelle, The Conjuring”, “Annabelle comes home”, “The Curse of La Llorona”, “The Conjuring 2”, “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me”, and finally “The Conjuring: Last Rites”.
These iconic spooky movies are a must watch for the scary feel of October.
