On Saturday, October 18th, the FFA Fall Festival will be taking place. Many activities will be taking place along with the sale of pumpkins! Every year the FFA organization plans and executes many things for students at West High School to participate in. I can always appreciate a good festival! I had the opportunity to attend this year’s Fall Festival and I can admit, my expectations were low. I thought to myself, “Do I really want to spend my Saturday at a FFA event?” I have a second period as a teacher assistant were I asked a few students if they were attending this year’s fall festival. Many students I asked said they were not attending because they did not know what was going to go on at the event. And I could not blame them, I did not know what I was attending either, but I guess I was about to find out
I woke up on the day of the Fall festival, showered, brushed my teeth, and got dressed. At around 10 I left for the Fall Festival and walked through the gate and was greeted with a lot of unfamiliar faces. I eventually found my teacher Ms. Cabrera and asked her where the pumpkins were. She pointed me to a door were I found the most massive pile of pumpkins I have seen in a while, so many unusual sizes, so many different textures and different shades of orange. I ended up getting 2 pumpkins instead of the planned 1. I left the festival with my arms full of pumpkins and a smile on my face. I urge all students to follow the FFA Instagram to stay up to date with all events coming up, so you do not miss out!
