Sophomore Lily Byrd is a first-year journalism student. Byrd spends majority of her free time filming, playing cello or skating. Film is one of the best ways for her to be expressive while still leaving interpretation of her artistic view up to the audience. This has always been a big part of her life. Picking up skating has given her an opportunity to relieve stress and tune everything else out. This student tries her best to remain social while also enrolled in college courses and Pre-AP classes at West High. Going to school in Berkeley is this student’s dream, and through her high school years Byrd hopes to find a career option she’s passionate about.
