After years of hard work, seniors Jacob Rebar and Hailey Martin have signed Letters of Intent on November 12 to attend University of Utah and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, respectively. Rebar will be joining the Utes to play baseball while Martin will be playing softball with the Mustangs.

Rebar has been playing baseball since he was 4 years old. The positions he plays are first base and pitcher. “I just want to succeed at the game because I love what I do,” said Rebar after being asked about his motivations for playing baseball.

Meanwhile, Martin has been playing softball for 5 years. The positions Martin plays are first base and outfielder. Similar to Rebar, Martin wants to “try to be the best out there.”

“We’re very proud of them. It’s a great accomplishment for the students, it’s great for the athletic program, the school and the community. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved,” said Athletic Director Derek Sprecksel. “It’s very difficult to make it to the Division I level in any sport, anywhere.” Both students thank their family, coaches, team mates and friends for supporting and getting them to where they are at.
