Are you stuck on making a choice of wanting to go to a four-year or two-year college? Here are some pros and cons to help you out. Almost all of us have the goal of going to college but there are many factors that hold us back. For example, maybe you want to stay close to home but not go to a community college. If you can’t afford a university’s cost, there are options like financial aid and scholarships to help you pay.

Some pros about 4-year universities include the many majors and minors they offer. Also, you have the opportunity to live on campus in the dorms while participating in school activities and events like homecoming. Going to a 4-year university can also introduce you to more diverse environments where you can learn about cultures and backgrounds of people from all around the world. Cons about a four-year include the cost and size. Classrooms are filled with hundreds of students so it may be harder to get help from your professor.

Some pros about junior colleges include the cost of tuition. For some community colleges, the tuition is very affordable and usually less than two thousand each semester to attend full time. Also if you need a flexible schedule because you intend to work while in school, junior colleges offer far more night classes than a 4-year university. There are many different opinions toward each option; it just matters what makes you feel comfortable and what will make you feel like you are getting the education you need in the right environment. There is no wrong choice or place to go, everybody’s path starts somewhere.
