Girls golf season has come to an end. This leaves the players with much to reflect on. We caught up with junior Vivica Young to see how her first golf season rolled out.

This being Young’s first swing at golf, she found that her favorite part of the season was getting to know all her fellow teammates and creating a bond with them. Golf often has many misconceptions, even Young was initially wary and a bit unconfident about playing the sport. It didn’t take long for her to realize that golf was perfectly fine, and she thinks “no one should be ashamed of playing golf.” Her tips for becoming successful include staying dedicated and making sure to attend practices to better your skills. Young recommends joining golf if you want to experience a great sport and be a part of an amazing team where you can meet new people. Golf is just as engaging as any other sport and shouldn’t be overlooked, pick up a club and take a few swings, you probably won’t make a hole-in-one, most likely will hollow out some of the green, but definitely will gain some appreciation for the game.
