Olayinka Bossa, Staff Reporter
Olayinka Bossa is a junior at West High, and she is one of the newest additions to The Zephyr. She is a Nigerian American student who was born and raised in the Bay Area then moved to Tracy in the seventh grade. Bossa is an active member of the Black Student Union (BSU) club and is also a part of the Track and Tennis team. She’s an independent person who works hard to strive in both sports and studies to get into a good university. She’s extremely excited this year to learn more about the class, her fellow classmates, writing skills and also to get a better inside scoop of her school. Her favorite things, besides always watching anime, include ice coffee, dancing, and R&B/Afro music. In her free time, she likes to roller skate, play the ukulele, learn Japanese and write for her Tumblr page. Her education plan after graduating is to continue to go to a four-year college, continue her two sports and study in the medical field. If the time were to arise in her stay in college, she’s considering taking an undergrad semester abroad to continue her studies. One day she would also like to go to visit her father’s home country, Nigeria, where she can connect with her existing family and educate herself more into her culture. It’s her, a Black teenage girl in 2020 America with plenty of heart to speak her mind, against the world. Stay tuned folks it gets interesting!
