What Can I do During Summer?

Aida Millar, Videographer

Now that summer is coming up, lots of students need activities to do over the break. By the end of the summer, it can be slightly repetitive. However, there are lots of non-expensive activities to do over break. Things like picnics, day trips, hiking, and baking.

Most people like enjoying the nice weather outside, aside from when it’s over 100 degrees outside. There are lots of small restaurants in Tracy that are affordable and have a cute and fun environment for when it’s too warm to be outside. CafĂ© Dazzling, T4, Baristas, and Bagel Street all have seating and affordable food and drinks.

The City of Tracy also offers lots of activities on hot summer days. Every weekend downtown there is a farmers’ market with over 20 booths selling food, drinks, produce, and jewelry. The Boys and Girls Club has summer camps and programs all throughout the summer months as well.

For those looking to get their community service hours, summer is a great time to get them done. Organizations like Interfaith, Astoria Gardens, and the animal shelter and all looking for volunteers over the summer, and into the school year as well.

These activities are fun and could be productive ways to enjoy your summer!
