When gas prices go up it becomes more expensive to travel and move goods. This makes California one of the most expensive states for gas.
A lot of the world’s oil passes through important shipping routes therefore any problems can cause prices to rise fast. Reports say gas prices have jumped more than 35% since the conflict in the Middle East began.
In some cities, gas prices have gone over $6, and a few stations have even reached $8 per gallon. Many people who drive long distances to work say it is becoming harder to stay within their monthly budget because of the high prices.
Drivers hope prices may start to go down soon if oil supplies improve, however it’s warned that relief could take time. For now, many families are trying to drive less and save money while waiting for prices to drop.
