This year West High delivers with the return of an old club—Polynesian club! Polynesian club is designed to celebrate the culture of Polynesian nations and territories, all the way from the American Samoa to New Zealand.  

We first saw Polynesian club in action this year at the multi-cultural rally making a performance and traditional dance, meant to display their unique culture.  

Senior Kalolaine Ia’aina Tupou’ata, co-president of Polynesian club, explains, “it died down a few years ago… we just brought it back this year.” Along with it’s comeback, she tells us Polynesian club is open to all cultures, backgrounds, and ethnicities.  

“Our club is about performing and learning cultural dances,” says Tu, ou’ata.“but in this club you build forever friendships and a family that will help you through life.”
