There’s no denying that this year’s Coachella performances gave many of us FOMO for not being able to attend. Many performers such as Maria from The Marias, Justin Bieber, and Swae Lee, gave out amazing shows which many were satisfied with. But Karol G was brought out as the first Latina woman to ever headline for Coachella, and her performance created many emotions for both the people watching at home, and for the people watching it LIVE.
Karol G had an exciting performance at Coachella, where she came out with a lot of energy and got the crowd hyped right away. She performed popular songs like “TQG,” “Amargura,” and “Ese Hombre es Malo,” and her stage had bright lights, many different visuals, and dancers that made everything much more energetic. She also showed pride in not only Columbian culture, but also in every other Latin culture. Karol also showed us that in the Latina community, women are sometimes underestimated compared to men. But to show that Latina power, she brought out an all-woman Mariachi band, and she sang a couple songs with them as well. She has always been the type of artist to represent not only her own roots, but to represent all Latin people out there, and that is exactly what she did throughout the performance.
Another part of her performance that stood out was when she brought out special guests and connected with the audience in a more emotional way. She brought out artist Becky G, and they sang their old song “MAMIII”, which was nostalgic for many fans. Karol also brought out Peso Pluma, which really excited the crowd. She also performed some slower songs that showed her feelings and made the moment more personal. Along with the guitarist Greg Gonzalez from Cigarettes after Sex, she sang an unreleased song right before having a moment to connect with the crowd about it. Translated to English, she said, “I realized this song belonged more to others than myself…but I want this song to find the person who needs it…it’s a song that talks about loss, about a person who is no longer with you, or a person that went to heaven…”
Karol G’s performance not only included many different Latin cultures, but she also demonstrated Latina power. Not only did she leave her fans with an unforgettable show, but she ended it with the announcement of her upcoming tour. Her upcoming tour, “Viajando Por El Mundo Tripitour”, will begin July 24, 2026, and end on July 24, 2027.
