The Color Purple is a drama and musical filled with many scenes that made the theaters quiet in shock with many big names cast such as: H.E.R, Fantasia, Taraji P. Henson, Halle Bailey, and many more. The movie had a powerful message of overcoming oppression, abusive surroundings, and hardships. The Color purple takes place in Georgia around 1910 and follows Celie, played by Fantasia, a girl separated from her sister, Nettie, -played by Hallie Bailey- at an early age and forced as a housewife until she was an adult. However, as the years go on and the abuse, she goes through gets worse. She never stops hoping to find her sister.
The Color Purple was filled with many catchy songs such as “Shrug Avery comin’ to town” sung by Taraji P.
