In Fall of 2022, The Black Phone had launched in theatres ready for faces to see. Director Scott Derrickson describes it as the supernatural thriller that combines the eerie elements of the short story with his own personal experiences. Derrickson realized how much a hit of the movie was and decided to direct a second one.

The Black Phone 2 stars Mason Thames, Ethan Hawke, Madeleine McGraw, and Miguel Mora. Finney (Mason Thames) is now 17 and is struggling with life after his captivity from the Grabber (Ethan Hawke), while his sister Gwen (Madeleine McGraw), begins receiving calls in her dreams from the black phone and experiencing visions. Gwen persuades Finn to visit Alphine Lake Camp, where they uncover a chilling connection between the Grabber and their family’s history

In one of Gwen’s visions, she answers a call and hears the young version of her mother on the other end. Years earlier, she was having visions of ice-bound children and the mother and daughter connected overtime and space, leading Gwen, Finney, and Gwen’s new friend, Ernesto (Miguel Mora), to the winter camp, Alphine Lake Camp.

The Black Phone 2 currently has earned over 100 million dollars worldwide. It as well was the number one movie at the domestic box office since it dropped on October 17, 2025. What did you think of it?
