I’ve made these cookies many times and everyone who has tried them is always satisfied with them. I hope you enjoy! Before you begin, I’ll give you some tips. For an extra boost of flavor add almond extract with the vanilla. Don’t overmix the dough because it can lead to tough cookies. You can use a kitchen scale for more accurate measurements. My last tip would be to not overcrowd the baking sheet, leave space for cookies to spread.
♡ preheat oven to 375° F
♡ mix together 2 3/4 cups of flour with 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder together
♡ then in a separate bowl mix together 1 cup of softened butter and 1 1/2 cups of white sugar until smooth
♡ then beat in the 1 egg and vanilla until well combined
♡ slowly add dry and wet ingredients together
♡ roll the dough into balls and place on baking sheet
♡ flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass
♡ sugar on top or wait until cooled to frost it
♡ bake 8-10 minutes in preheated oven until golden brown
♡ allow cookies to cool for a couple minutes on the pan before transferring them to a wire rack to cool
Optionally, wait for cookies to cool and then frost them.
