Country music has been around for years, and fans have had plenty to look forward to this year, but Megan Moroney’s new album had anticipation. If you ever had any emotions that you would relate to for an artist, it would be Megan, especially her new album, Cloud 9.
All the songs in the album were tuned and sad, but a couple of her songs and lines had stuck out to me. My favorite song was Table for Two, immediately to me and others this song stuck out because it has a hint of her old songs in it. A lyric that really pulled me into the song was, “I’ve got nothing to do and nothing to lose. Why be alone when we don’t have to?”
Megan Moroney released this album to showcase her evolution as a more confident songwriter; she described the album written as “the most confident version of herself.”
With a mix of storytelling and growth, Cloud 9 highlights Moroney’s development as both a writer and artist. Fan of country music or anyone who likes good storytelling will find something in this album that speaks to them.
