Holiday hangouts are always fun. It’s time to be with friends outside of school and have an enjoyable time. At our age sometimes we may be limited in our hangout options, especially during the holiday season. Whether it’s the lack of rides or lack of financial freedom. Even though we may be limited, there are still many hangout options.
What are some hangout options? Many students ask themselves if it all depends on the budget and if you can drive or have someone to drive you. On a budget with a ride, it could just be a holiday party at a house or a hangout at a park close to everyone. If you have a bit more money and can be driven inside your town, you can go to your local mall, downtown, a restaurant or holiday market. With a higher budget you can plan to go to an amusement park, a fair, mini golf, laser tag, or an escape room. If you have a ride, you could go out of town to a city such as San Francisco or if you are allowed to stay overnight even a trip to LA, but these require a lot of money, and it is a far distance to travel.
But what is the most important part of a holiday hangout? Is the most principal part the location, the time, the money spent, the people? I asked different students about what is most important about a holiday hangout to them.
Sophomore Joseph Ammari said, “I find that the most important part of a holiday is the quality time that you get to spend with people you’re close to. It’s good to hang out with them before the business of life catches up to everyone.” He brought up a good point even though we can see each other in school we’re usually busy. If we hang out outside of school, we can actually spend quality time.
Sophomore Renne Truong said “The most important part of hanging out with my friends during the holidays is seeing the laughter and joy on their faces and spending quality time with those I love.” The way she voiced her opinion was great because these holiday hangouts are about relaxation. So, if everyone is in a good mood, everyone can enjoy themselves.
At the end as long as you can see your friends and have an opportunity to spend time with them, you’ll probably have a fun time. Holiday hangouts may be difficult to plan but they are worth every second of stress because you get to unwind with people you are comfortable with. It is important to hang out during the holiday season; you go from being with your friends every day to not seeing them at all. Hanging out with them once during a break is a way to not miss them as much.
